Background:
On January 11, 2019, a huge gas blowout on the corner of Via Marina and Tahiti Way in Marina Del Rey spewed liquids and 100,000 cubic feet of natural gas almost 100 feet into the air. The blowout happened while an old underground gas well was being repaired on the construction site of a new Courtyard Marriott Hotel.
